HISTORY OF THE ENGLISH CARGO VESSEL MAYFLOWER

Discover the Mayflower, wooden model of this freighter ship from XVII century. This ship transported 102 English separatists -now known as the Pilgrim Fathers- from Plymouth to the New World, making this journey an iconic one within early American history.

The Mayflower was a typical English merchant ship from the early 17th century. After two failed attempts to return to port for repairs, the famous voyage began on September 6th arriving at the coast of Newfoundland in November. It would not be until well into the winter when they managed to reach New England.

On its return the Mayflower would be destroyed, a replica was built almost three centuries later. It can be visited at boat museum in the port of Plymouth.

This Static Display boat is an all-wood replica of the Mayflower
that carried the Puritans to America on September 6, 1620.
Latina rates the difficulty level at two anchors,
recommended for beginning to intermediate modelers.

All-wood construction features african walnut, sapele, ramin, coral
plywood and boxwood.
Brass hardware such as eyebolts, rudder hinges, pinracks
and much more.
Five colors of thread, brown and raw (pale green) for different
rigging applications.

This is an intricate model with many pieces and much finish work
